Ottoman storage beds are the single highest-volume furniture application — a heavy mattress platform lifted by two springs, where the customer expects one-hand operation and a controlled descent. Lift-up cabinet doors and fold-down desks are lighter but far more sensitive to getting the force exactly right.

What goes wrong
Specification mistakes we see most often in furniture work.
- Ottoman beds must be sized with the mattress and bedding included. Customers routinely quote the frame weight and end up with a bed they cannot lift.
- Under-sizing a light cabinet door is safer than over-sizing it: too much force and the door flies open and strains the hinge.
- Any lid a child could climb into needs a spring that holds it open reliably, plus a slow-close damper.
