What goes wrong
Specification mistakes we see most often in industrial oem work.
- Anything a person works underneath should use a lockable gas spring or a mechanical prop as backup. A standard spring gives no warning before it fails.
- Above 1500 N, the mounting bracket and its fasteners usually fail before the spring does — specify the whole assembly, not just the cylinder.
- Duty cycle drives seal choice. A panel opened 50 times a day needs a different seal pack than one opened twice a year.
